The Cancer Program at AllianceHealth Deaconess has maintained accreditation by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC) since 1988. This accreditation is a voluntary commitment that ensures access to the full scope of services required to diagnose, treat, rehabilitate and support patients with cancer and their families. AllianceHealth Deaconess's Cancer Program is among an elite 25 percent of cancer programs in the United States that follow the CoC program standards to ensure quality, interdisciplinary and complete cancer care delivery.
The Cancer Center at AllianceHealth Deaconess is committed to providing ongoing psychosocial support for people with cancer and their families, and assisting them with various life changes accompany the cancer diagnosis. An oncology social worker is an active part of the interdisciplinary team and assists with emotional and practical concerns. Psychiatrists are also available as needed during or after treatment.
